A few days ago I was going through my fridge trying to figure out what I can make to dinner. All I had left were the ingredients that I used to make the Breakfast Burrito last weekend. I didn’t felt like eating the burrito again, so I got creative and decided to make a pizza using the tortilla as the crust. I began spreading tomato sauce on the tortilla, added the left over green pepper and tomatoes. For additional flavour, I sprinkled some ground pepper, and hot pepper spices. Finally, I added lots of a sliced sausages and cheese on top! My Pizza Tortilla was ready after being baked for 10 minutes in the oven at 350ºF!
After making the Western Omelet 2 weekends ago, last weekend I decided to try making the Breakfast Burrito. The idea came from having the Breakfast Burrito combo at McDs.
The ingredients I used were basically the same as the Western Omelet with the exception adding an additional 1/2 cup milk.
Last weekend I became bored of making a BLT sandwich for brunch, so I decided to make a Western Omelet. I looked up the recipe in my cookbook, but it didn’t have the recipe of a Western Omelet, so I just follow half the recipe and made up the rest of the ingredients myself which included: chopped green pepper and tomato, ground pepper, Parmesan cheese, and a sausage cutted into pieces.
During the last 2 weeks, I got tired of cooking soup based noodles so I decided to dust off my frying pan. Without following any recipes, using what I can dig up in my fridge, some intuitive thinking, and my past cooking experience
I created these dishes.
Stir Fry Noodles
For my first dish, I decided to go Asian and attempted to make “Chow Mein”. I added oil to my frying pan, and started frying some chopped carrot and celery. To give it more flavour, I used some salt and ground pepper. Then I drained the boiled shrimp-egg noodles, added to the pan and fried it until it start to get dry and crispy. To avoid a vegetarian dish I also fried some dumplings as well.
Spicy Macaroni & Cheese
I got my inspiration from a piece of Monterey Jack cheese with hot peppers spice inside. I opened a box of Kraft Macaroni & Cheese, and began mixing the cheese sauce in the frying pan, added some chopped carrots, celery, sprinkle some ground pepper, and finally added some very important hot pepper spice! Finally, I mixed in the already boiled cook Macaroni pasta to finish making the dish.
Orecchiette in Tomato Sauce
This final dish, I decided to make an Italian pasta. I started off with some tomato sauce in the pan, then added some chopped green pepper, tomato, onion, bacon, salted and ground pepper. Lastly, I drained the boil Orecchiette, and mixed it together with the sauce.
I remember my first BLT sandwich; it didn’t really looked like one. =P
After a few practices, I finally managed to make the perfect BLT sandwich for myself.
